Course Description
This comprehensive course delves into the foundational core functions of behavioral health practice: screening, intake, and orientation. Designed for professionals working in addiction treatment and mental health services, it offers a structured exploration of how these early-stage processes set the tone for effective client engagement and ongoing care. Participants will learn how to identify client needs through evidence-based screening tools, conduct thorough and compliant intake sessions, and deliver clear orientation to program expectations, rights, and resources.
Drawing on real-world examples and regulatory best practices, the course emphasizes both technical competence and the interpersonal skills required to build trust and rapport. Attendees will gain actionable strategies for ensuring documentation accuracy, safeguarding client confidentiality, and fostering a supportive environment from the very first contact.
